Gantry crane brake replacement method and scrap standard
When companies use single-beam gantry cranes or double-beam gantry cranes, they may encounter problems with the brakes of the cranes. This is most likely due to the serious wear and tear of the brakes of the gantry cranes. The lifting mechanism of the gantry crane does not work properly, which may cause problems such as the sliding of the heavy object and the slipping of the hook. When the brake does not work well, check and adjust the brake first.
If the brake pads are severely worn, they must be scrapped. Standard for the scrapping of brake pads: When the brake pads of the gantry crane wear up to 2mm or 50% of the original thickness, they must be scrapped and new brake pads need to be replaced.
Brake adjustment method of gantry crane electric hoist
The adjustment method of the brake ring of the hoist under 5 tons is as follows:
Remove the tail cover, unscrew the four screws that fix the adjustment nut, use a wrench to turn the adjustment nut clockwise to the limit position, turn it counterclockwise one more turn, and then install the fastening screws.
If the spring has been used for a long time, it is caused by insufficient elasticity. Please replace the spring to solve the problem. Is it caused by long-term overload? Adjust the brake, tighten the big nut behind the motor and take a look! If it doesn’t work, the spring will not work!
Brake adjustment method of electric hoist over 10 tons
The large nut behind the electric hoist motor of more than 10 tons is loosened (reversely)) The looser the nut, the tighter the brake. This can be within a gap of 4-5 mm. Generally, just twist 1-2 turns.
Steps of replacement method for block brake pads:
- Loosen the single-sided brake screws on both sides, and loosen the middle spring appropriately.
- Twist the middle limit screw to open the two side tile holders, remove the old brake pads, and install the new brake pads.
- Adjust the tightness of the screw and spring appropriately, neither too loose nor too tight.
- During the operation of the gantry crane, observe whether there is any deflection, and adjust the brake in time when the deflection is found.
The brake adjustment and replacement methods are relatively simple, and the customer can greatly reduce maintenance costs if they master it themselves.
